I said this to someone else a while ago, they sure don't make em like that anymore. I look around graveyard now for image ideas and all the headstones are flat or just so blah. These old markers have great character. I like the whole 3rds thing going on here. Nice even lighting helped out too. Nice capture.

@Rene: I agree completely. I'm always struck by cemeteries in Europe because of the intricate statuary there. This picture was taken in Hollywood Cemetery in Richmond, VA, a sprawling, hilly place with some outstanding statues and mausoleums.

Depth of field makes this photo,the fence is a nice counterpoint to the sentimental aspect of the pic which lifts it out of the potential for being mundane or sappy. Nice capture ,well done!
